It seems to have been a while since I updated. Anyway, life has been mostly busy but mostly good since then. I went to The Big E, saw lots of animals, ate lots of fried food, rode some rides, bought lots of Vermont cheese, and generally had a good time. I went to the CT Ren Faire, looked at shiny things with people, watched some jousting and sword fighting, got a fabulous man-eating muppet shoulder bag, and fell further into hairstick-buying addiction. I saw lots of marching bands in Davis Square at Honk!, including one which played a marching band cover of Smooth Criminal, which was hilarious.

This past weekend was kind of madness. Thursday evening I felt on top of the world. I ran 5k in 30 minutes at the gym, which is pretty good for someone who had never run a mile in under 10 minutes in her life prior to this summer. Friday morning I felt kind of crappy, but I decided to ignore it given that I had a full weekend of wonderful things coming up which I'd had planned for weeks. And the weekend was great. Of course this morning I felt crappy enough that I called in sick and slept until 3 pm. Oops. Then I had breakfast, got an oil change and a car wash, and now it's almost 7.

Friday evening I had a (slightly premature) birthday party. It was great, although I didn't get to talk to anyone for as long as I would have liked. Still, it was really nice to see so many different people all in the same place. Saturday morning (well, early afternoon) a few of us went downtown to the chocolate buffet and we had a pleasant and delicious time stuffing ourselves. After a little while relaxing at home, I went to campus to play FInal Fantasy: Revenant Storm. I was really too tired and brain-dead to play a SIK game, but it had such great reviews that I didn't want to skip it, and it was still a good time. Sunday I went apple picking, and it started sleeting as soon as we got to the farm. The sleet changed to full-on big fluffy snow while we were there, and it was sticking to the ground on the drive back. The evening consisted of mulling cider, eating steak and corn, and watching Brutal Legend while curled up under a blanket on a couch, which is really a fine way to spend a freak October snow storm.

Hopefully I will feel human again tomorrow. I am sorry for giving the plague to whoever I might have given it to this weekend.

Oh man the Big E is fantastic; I'm glad you got a chance to go!

Also, happy birthday a few days early!

Also, congrats on running 5K in 30 minutes--that's a huge accomplishment.
