Dec. 26th, 2008 03:04 amThere was snow last week! It was pretty. My immense love for snow and ice briefly overshadowed my distaste for winter.
There was a day in New York with
laura47 to break my drive in half, which was good once I stopped being cranky from having spent too much time in the car. (I blame slow, poorly maintained Connecticut roads.) We went to the Barcade, had delicious bagels, and did some interesting shopping. I am much better at Q-Bert than I used to be, and much worse at everything else. (And Laura's grandmother is far too nice and bought me lunch and gave me a ticket to a show.)
Christmas has been full of tasty, tasty food. Mmm, pierogi. And so many kinds of cheese. And I made deviled eggs and cookies. For the sugar cookies I made green icing with creme de menthe and red icing with creme de cassis. I also made a bunch of shortbread cookies with fillings -- jam, apple butter, and peanut butter with chocolate chips. This year has been a year of discovering the wonders of combining fruit with dessert food.
Tonight we went into Baltimore and saw all the lights on 34th street, which were impressive as usual. One house was the house of a guy who made awesome welded sculpture, and he had lots of things on display in his living room. Must actually weld more...
I have too much media to consume. And I have bunny slippers with pointy teeth.
