I've never regretted having mine pierced. My parents pierced my ears when I was but a wee infant. I got the second holes (several times) in middle school. I got the third holes when I graduated high school. Plus, the way I think of it, you can always just choose not to put jewelry in a piercing. It's not like the holes are really noticeable unless you look closely. The care for piercing lobes is pretty easy. It stings a bit at first, but it's a lot faster heal than, say, a cartilage piercing.
It's kind of weird when I think about it, you know. Healed holes to hang things in. But I can't really imagine living without mine, and I've had a lot of fun over the years making/finding/buying things to put in them.
